Our Timber Creek Elementary Gifted and Talented Students were Marine Engineers today. We had a lesson on density and then students had a STEM Challenge where they designed their own boat prototypes. Students tested not only if their foil boats could float, but if they also could carry 5 gummy bears. Students who had successful prototypes then attempted to transport coins, pencils, and even scissors! – Shawn Schaper, Dyslexia/Gifted and Talented Teacher
